Career Expo

NEBC Partnership Grants The goal this year was to continue with the speaker series focusing on specific career paths. Speakers representing ten career fields spoke to groups of seniors about the skills necessary to be successful in their respective professions. Each field had 2–4 panelists who addressed students and shared their perspective on what they had to consider when looking into this field of study. The presenters were able to tell the students what skills, interests, and talents might be helpful in the career presented. All juniors took part in two presentations during the event. The following fields were represented: Math and Science; Government; Art; Business; Culinary Arts; Industrial Arts; History, English, and Foreign Language; Technology; Health Professions; and Drama, Music, and Architecture. The event was viewed as both successful and informative by students and panelists alike.

Students commented that the presenters were able to relate to them, were honest and told them important things about furthering their education.
